Buchanan, Virginia, is a tiny town in the mountains of Virginia with undeniable charm. Known as the “Gateway to the Shenandoah Valley,” this historic area offers a picturesque Main Street, loads of outdoor attractions, and dining options that could please just about anyone. Here’s more on this little town hiding in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains:
Buchanan, Virginia is located in Botetourt County in the beautiful mountains of western Virginia.
Perhaps the biggest draw of them all is the mighty James River. Views of the James from Buchanan are hard to beat, and nowhere is that more evident than the swinging bridge.
After you've crossed Buchanan's swinging bridge, you can celebrate your arrival to town with a trip to the Swinging Bridge Cafe for some delicious homemade sandwiches.
Should you visit during the warmer months, you'll certainly want to give the Farmers Market a visit. It's here you can purchase some quality produce that has been locally grown.
