Black Friday. When I was growing up, I am pretty sure we just called it “Friday.” But now it’s a notorious day, in and of its own right. Shops open early, sales go full-tilt and shoppers go wild. There’s no question that it’s a great way to save a bit of money in the midst of holiday shopping madness, but it’s not the only thing to do the day after Thanksgiving. Here are a few ideas to help you plan for “Black Friday” and make memories that money just can’t buy.
Take advantage of those extra hands and get your fall raking done.
Let the kids jump! These are the memories that stay with us.

Set up games around the house. Maybe Monopoly at one table and cards at another. Whatever you choose, you’ll find yourself talking and laughing with your loved ones - and that’s what counts.

How about a "movies filmed in Virginia" marathon? Try Dirty Dancing, Evan Almighty, Lincoln, Cold Mountain and Somersby, just to name a few.
Take advantage of having your parents or grandparents in town. Write down questions for you or your kids to ask the older, but certainly wiser, generation and record their answers on your smartphone. I bet they can tell you things about Virginia that you never knew.
DO THEM!! Or at least 2 or 3. Now is the time. No more excuses.
