When summer is at its peak, it’s impossible to believe that fall could be anywhere close. But every year as we watch those September days quickly slip by, there’s only one thing to do: embrace it! When most people think about fall in Virginia, they dream up images of pumpkin patches, apple cider, and tree-lined drives. The family-run Liberty Mills Farm can be found in Orange County. Their beloved corn maze is known for being a work of art, as well as the largest corn maze in the country! Corn maze admission typically begins the first week of September and runs through mid-November. While here, visitors can enjoy over seven miles of maze trails and walking paths, as well as a plethora of photo opportunities. The Northern Neck Farm Museum is a collection of farming equipment which was started by a Northumberland County native in 2006. This maze is lovingly planted and tended by a wonderful crew of locals - and we appreciate their hard work!
A bakery and a corn maze? Count us in! Bergey's Breadbasket is a bakery, deli, and creamery (yum!) run by the Bergey family. The business has a long history within the Tidewater area, and has been operating since 1910. In addition to freshly-baked treats, a petting zoo, pumpkin patch, and more, visitors can enjoy touring the farm and its many photo opportunities. Fall visitors will also find multiple corn mazes to suit a variety of age groups. The maze typically opens for group reservations in mid-August, but will be open to the public mid-September through the end of October.
