With the freezing cold temperatures we’re having, why not take a driving road trip to see Vermont in all its frozen glory? 1. Shires of Vermont Byway
Take Route 7A from Pownal to Manchester for a perfectly picturesque ride. This trip is only 33 miles so plan to stop along the way and take a closer peek. Even if you don't stop, the views from the windshield are wonderful.

This ride travels along Route 91 in Vermont and Routes 2 and 3 in New Hampshire. Vermont towns you'll see:
Brattleboro, Bellows Falls, Windsor, White River Junction, Wells River and St. Johnsbury.
4. Green Mountain Byway
There are lots of places to stop and get warm on this 11-mile trek from Waterbury to Stowe. The Ben & Jerry's factory, Cold Hollow Cider Mill, and Cabot Cheese Annex are a few places to stop and snack along the way.

5. Stone Valley Scenic Byway
Don't miss this scenic trip through the marble quarry towns with rolling hills and picturesque landscapes. Vermont towns you'll see: Hubardton, Castleton, Poultney, Wells, Pawlet, Rupert, Dorset and Manchester.
6. Lake Champlain Byway
This scenic drive has it all - farms, mountains, towns, cities, islands and yes, the magnificent Lake Champlain.
Vermont towns you'll see: The Champlain Islands, Burlington, Middlebury and Vergennes are a few places to note on this 134-mile stretch.
