If you want to improve your chances of seeing a UFO, Vermont is the place to be. Based on population data, the odds of viewing a UFO are 205-to-1.
There have been more than 2800 sightings in Vermont since 1940. In 2018 alone, 20 reports were made of mysterious activities in the skies above the Green Mountain State.
Bright lights, saucer-shaped objects, triangular craft, orange fireballs are just some of the accounts in reports made by Vermonters describing the unexplained things they've seen in the sky.
While some believe that Glastonbury Mountain within the Bennington Triangle is a prime spot for strange activity, the reports originate from all over the state.
Spring and summer months are more common for seeing a UFO. This could be because people tend to be outside more often and longer with a greater tendency to look up at the sky.
Vermont may have the best odds of catching a glimpse of a UFO but Wyoming comes in close second with odds of 250-to-1. The states with the least chances of UFO spotting opportunities: Florida (3485-to-1), Texas (3395-to-1), and New York (2584-to-1).
While 90-95 percent of sightings turn out to be weather-related events, military testing, or other events, there is still a percentage of activity in the sky that can’t be explained.
