Located near the historic and beautiful town of Manchester Center, you'll find the Prospect Rock trailhead. The hike is just over three miles round trip, providing great vistas of the surrounding Vermont landscape.
With a max elevation change of approximately 1,000 feet, the trail has a significant incline for its length. However, the trail is rated as moderate and is well marked.
Access the trail by following Route 11/30 eastward for a quarter mile before turning on East Manchester Road. You will then approach a three-way stop sign; head straight on Rootville Road until you see a parking lot about a mile further along.
Along the hike, you will encounter simple yet gorgeous paths with remarkable explosions of colors. Stop and take your time at Prospect Rock; you’ll want to absorb the scenery.
