Although the beach at Crystal Lake State Park doesn’t have waves like the ocean, it remains one of the most pristine beaches in Vermont. Based in the small town of Barton, Crystal Lake is a stunning three-mile glacial lake surrounded by some of the lush mountains that make Vermont so special. If you’re curious to know more, I encourage you to learn why Crystal Lake State Park is the place to head for the ultimate day of play at the beach.
To get started on your beach day at Crystal Lake State Park, take VT-12 North if you're coming from Montpelier.
Guests are welcome to visit the park from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Please note, you'll need to leave your furry pals at home when you go on this outing - this is a pet-free destination.
Along with packing for the beach, feel free to bring a picnic. There are grills scattered around the beach that are available for use too. There's also a snack bar and bathhouse for visitors.
In 2005, the pristine park was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places for the role the Civilian Conservation Corps played in creating the park.
