Lucky are us who get to call Vermont home. With nature surrounding our every turn, it’s not hard to escape the hustle and bustle of life while in the Green Mountain State, and if you are looking for a place to get even further away from civilization, head over to the stunning and most secluded Lake in Vermont, Lake Groton, where you will find a placid and isolated body of water that is perfect for reconnecting with nature on your next summer adventure.
Located roughly 30 miles east of Montpelier in the little populated town of Groton, Lake Groton is one of the most isolated and beautiful of Vermont lakes.
Due to the accessible waterways found in this area, Colonists settled in the area earlier than other parts of the state. But don't let that fool you and make you think this area is heavily populated.
The secluded region makes this nature spot all the more breathtaking. On the lake, you'll feel like you are totally surrounded by forests and mountains.
In the region adjacent to the lake there are plenty of hiking opportunities and other interesting places to explore, including the Kettle Pond State Park and the Ricker Pond State Park.
The 26,000-acre Groton State Park, with rocky hillsides, private cottages and seasonal homes, and local recreational outdoor activities, is a wonderful place to explore this summer in Vermont.
If you are still interested in learning more about the secluded and splendid Lake Groton, check out the Vermont Parks Site to gain a more in depth knowledge of the lake, park, and amenities/activities on site.
Surrounded by forests and mountains, Lake Groton is one of Vermont’s nicest and most secluded lakes. Plan a trip this summer to experience Vermont’s nature at its finest.
