Are you obsessed with things that go bump in the night? Then Vermont’s scariest haunted attraction might be just what you’re after this Halloween season. Nightmare Vermont is so terrifying that some participants may actually need to sign a waiver. Here’s what you need to know.
Looking for a serious dose of the shivers? Then head to Nightmare Vermont, the state’s premier haunted house attraction. If you dare.
This spot offers a terrifying, immersive theatrical experience that will direct you through 13 creepy spaces where scenes of horror and mayhem will play out.
When it comes to how you experience this haunted attraction, you actually have a few options. You can go through as a normal participant, or purchase a Ghost Ward for $1 prior to the event. This special necklace will make you "invisible" to all characters in the show, so you won’t be approached or menaced.
However, the truly brave will want to opt for a Teaser. These necklaces make you a prime target for all the ghosts and creatures in the experience. In fact, wearing one of these Teasers can make the experience so intense that you need to sign a waiver before donning one.
Only one Teaser is auctioned off per group, though you can reserve one ahead of time for an extra fee. All participants should expect to run into terrifying creatures, be splashed with mysterious fluids, and may even have to do a little bit of running.
Are you a grownup looking for something spooky to do after-hours? Nightmare Vermont is also hosting a goth-themed dance party on October 19. You’ll be treated to top-notch DJ’s, creepy cocktails, and plenty of thrills beginning at 11 p.m.
Tickets to the attraction are $13 in advance and $15 starting October 13. Evening shows run Thursday through Saturday, October 17-19 and 24-26.
