It’s Halloween season in Vermont, and what better way to get into this fall tradition spirit than staying overnight in an old, historic, and allegedly haunted inn in Vermont? The old Quechee Inn at Marshland Farm was built in 1793 and has a long history of spooky ghost encounters, as well as being a gorgeous 19th century inn. Here’s what you can expect from a visit to this haunted and beautiful inn in Vermont:
Located one-and-a-half miles from Vermont's scenic treasure Quechee Gorge, the Quechee Inn at Marshland Farm is in a prime spot for seeing Vermont's stunning landscapes.
The inn was originally built as a residence for Colonel Joseph Marsh, who was the first lieutenant governor of Vermont. Since the turn of the 19th century, the premises has expanded to 22 guest rooms, three suites, and a grand dining restaurant.
According to legend, the ghosts of John and Jane Porter, who purchased the residence in 1865, still reside in the rooms of the inn. In fact, some have claimed to hear peculiar noises and clandestine footsteps in empty rooms. Spooky!
But don't let these questionable "psychological" anomalies get in the way of you visiting and staying overnight at this historic and fine inn in Woodstock.
