All hikes bring you out in nature and have something to offer, but fewer hikes let you really escape from everything and allow for complete peace. If you are looking for a break from the daily grind and wish to get outside and recharge your batteries, we cannot recommend any other hike as highly as the Mount Pisgah Trail in Vermont. When you need a little nature therapy, the vistas and serene, pastoral surroundings of Mount Pisgah are just what you need.
Gaze out at Lake Willoughby from the hike's summit, which is well worth the two-mile incline to reach this heavenly vantage point.
The trail is rated as moderate and runs just over four miles round trip out-and-back. Along the trail, there are plenty of chances for glimpses of the surrounding forests and pristine Lake Willoughby.
The best time to hike this trail is in peak fall foliage season (beginning of October), but the views are so calming and magnificent that this trail is worth a hike during any season.
One of the best parts of this hike is the feeling you get from the summit as you look out upon this stunning landscape. Pause and take in all the therapeutic elements of this spectacular sight.
Don't let the steepness of the incline intimidate you on the hike. Your legs will certainly be tested, but the views at the top will more than compensate.
