Some of the many things Vermont is known for include its lush Green Mountains, stunning Fall foliage, breathtaking hiking trails, being neighbors with Canada, exciting ski resorts, and maple syrup. This scenic state in New England is also known as one of the coldest states in the country which tends to be faced with freezing temperatures each winter.

In 2015, locals experienced one of the coldest winters in Vermont. Starting January 26, Vermonters dealt with freezing weather for 27 days straight. This period began with the infamous New England Blizzards that slammed Vermont on January 26th and 27th. Aside from the bitter cold, Vermonters in parts of the state had to deal with up to three feet of snow as well. This three-and-a-half-week streak is ranked within the top 15 of coldest winters in Vermont. Aside from dealing with weather below 32 degrees, parts of Vermont were hit with snow, rain, ice, and mist too.
