There are times in Vermont when you work up a huge appetite playing on the mountain. Meat lovers know that after an action-packed day of skiing or mountain biking only the biggest steak is going to satisfy your hearty appetite. For a big and juicy steak with a top-notch taste, head down the mountain to this rustic steakhouse for a truly divine dinner.
Located just a few miles south of Okemo in Ludlow, Sam's Steakhouse is famous for feeding hungry mountain adventurers.
Bring your appetite and start off with the world-famous salad bar. Four different kinds of lettuce, oodles of vegetables, and prepared dishes like coleslaw and potato salad are just the beginning. Grab a slice of warm homemade bread and your meal is off to an exceptional start.
Seafood lovers will love the raw bar selections including scrumptious oysters on the half shell and colossal shrimp cocktail.
The main attraction at Sam's Steakhouse is, of course, the beef. The steaks are dry-aged in a meat locker at 34 degrees for 21-28 days creating extreme tenderness and extraordinary flavor.
The chef char-grills the steaks over live coals so each cut is cooked to juicy perfection. They are so melt-in-your-mouth good that the first bite will send your taste buds to heaven.
The 16 oz. bone-in rib-eye will fill most diners. But for the heartiest of appetites choose the biggest steak on the menu, a 21 ounce porterhouse.
Some of you might prefer your dinner from the sea. The jumbo-lump crab cake is a deliciously decadent choice.
And if you can't decide between land and sea, the divine surf and turf options will take care of your indecision in a snap.
Sam's Steakhouse opens daily at 5 p.m. Stop in for drinks and tasty appetizers or settle in for a fully memorable meal of dry-aged steaks like you've never tasted before.
