The turkey clubs are particularly tasty, but the Christini (pictured above) made with french toast stuffed with ham, cheese, and a side of maple syrup, is out of this world.
2. Prohibition Pig - 23 S Main St, Waterbury.
There’s a reason the Prohibition Pig is always packed. When you combine their delicious sandwiches (particularly the brisket sandwich) with duck fat fries and truffle ketchup you have a meal made in heaven. Amazing wings and splurge-worthy mac and cheese should also be on your bucket list.

Simply put, this place has excellent sandwiches. Amazing in fact! Particularly noteworthy is the Maplebrook mozzarella which is a vegetarian delight! The basil aioli makes this sandwich incredible but if you have a hankering for something with more oomph, try the meaty spicy sandwich. You’ve got to love a place that has complimentary iced water available at the counter. Refreshing, healthy and environmentally friendly.

If you ever get the spanish meatloaf sandwich at Ponce Bistro you’ll be dreaming about it for a lifetime. The combination of the soft bread, the meatloaf, the manchego cheese… it all comes together to form sandwich perfection.
