Lake Champlain is one of the most popular summer destinations in Vermont; it’s undoubtedly gorgeous and a great place to get out on the water. But if you are looking for something a little more low-key, there’s a fantastic beachside park right around the corner. Tucked away on Malletts Bay, you’ll find a park that is full of surprises that the whole family can enjoy.
Niquette Bay State Park is the perfect place for an adventure. Find it in the town of Colchester right on Malletts Bay, a protected cove off of Lake Champlain.
Hike the many trails or choose to take a dip. The possibilities are endless at this charming beachside park.
The small bay beach has a sandy shore and is shallow along the border. Smaller kids love splashing around in the tiny ripple like waves.
Take the plunge and swim out further if you are a big kid. The water is very refreshing on a hot summer day.
Hike the many trails at the park. Most are shaded woodland paths. You'll encounter an occasional boardwalk or foot bridge along the way.
Keep an eye out for the stone cairns hidden along the way. There is something magical about these rock formations.

Niquette Bay State Park is open from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. daily. Pack a picnic and stay the day, you won't run out of things to do in this gem of a park.
