There are some pretty incredible slot canyons in Utah like the stunning Zion Narrows. However, many of these trails require quite a bit of hiking experience and technical gear to get you through the canyons safely and easily. Fortunately, the Wire Pass Trail, located near the Utah Arizona state line, is one easy trail that even families can enjoy. This hiking trail will take you through Wire Pass to Buckskin Gulch, one of the most gorgeous slot canyons in Utah.
As with all slot canyons, this hike should only be done in fair weather. If it has been raining or there is a chance of rain, do not attempt this trail as even the slightest amount of rain can become quite dangerous. Also, be on the lookout for various types of wildlife on the trail including rattlesnakes.
Dogs are permitted on this hiking trail in Utah, but they may need assistance in certain areas such as on the ladder. Permits are also required for day use and can be purchased in advance or at the trailhead. For more information on this hike, directions to the trailhead, required permits, etc., visit the Utah Office of Tourism website.
Have you ever hiked through Wire Pass to Buckskin Gulch? What was your experience like? We’d love to hear about your adventure in the comments!
