You don’t have to wait until the summer to enjoy a beautiful hot air balloon display. Mark your calendars for February 17-19, 2023, for the annual Balloons and Tunes Roundup in Kanab, Utah. This winter festival is unlike many others in the Beehive State. You will enjoy beautiful weather, incredible balloons, and a weekend full of activities. It’s a hot air balloon festival in Kanab, Utah that you’ll be anticipating all year long.
Get ready for the ninth annual Balloons and Tunes Roundup in Kanab this February. For an entire weekend, you’ll get to enjoy a sky filled with hot air balloons and activities for the entire family.
Each morning, more than 40 hot air balloons will fill the sky above Kanab. Pilots from all over the country come to participate in the event and it is quite a sight to see.
The launch begins at 7:30 a.m. so you’ll want to wake up early to enjoy the view. The launch takes place at the former Coral Cliffs Golf Course in Kanab and is weather permitting.

While you won’t be able to ride in the balloons, with red rocks, blue skies, and lots of colors, this is one hot air balloon festival in Utah that is not only exciting but absolutely beautiful no matter your view.
Friday night, you’ll want to check out the street fair and the Lantern Festival Launch. Located along Main Street, you can shop the vendors, enjoy live music, and launch your own lantern — it’s absolutely spectacular!
Saturday, you can continue to shop the vendors along Main Street and listen to live music. That evening, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., take a walk along Center Street and enjoy the Balloon Glow. This is your chance to get up close and enjoy the balloons from a new perspective.
Sunday is the final launch but that doesn’t mean the fun has to be done. After you’ve enjoyed the stunning show in the sky, spend some time around Kanab or take a short drive to Zion National Park, Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park, or one of the other outdoor destinations in the area.
The Kanab Balloons and Tunes Roundup in southern Utah may just become one of your favorite events of the year. This is one festival that you won’t want to leave off your calendar.
