Don’t you love a snowy Utah day? We usually get a break from the inversion when a storm blows through, and everything looks like a magical wonderland covered in a soft blanket of snow. While you might just snuggle up with a blanket in front of the window and watch the snow, here are 11 other things you can do on a snowy day in the Beehive State.
Let your kids burn off some energy at the Discovery Gateway Children's Museum. They can get some exercise and find an outlet for their creative energy, too. The museum is located at 444 W. 100 S., Salt Lake City. While you're at The Gateway, swing by the Clark Planetarium, too!
There's nothing quite like curling up with a book on a snowy winter day. The Salt Lake City Main Branch, at 210 E. 400 S., Salt Lake City, has entire walls of windows and plenty of cozy seating.

You'll be nice and warm at the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium, where you can see the penguins frolicking in the Antarctic Adventure exhibit, walk through the 40-foot shark tunnel in the Ocean Explorer exhibit, see the river otters at the Discover Utah exhibit, and much more. 12033 Lone Peak Parkway, Draper.

The elk viewing season runs between now and February 26th. Bundle up and take a wagon ride to get up close to the elk Friday through Monday. The cost is just $5 for adults and $3 for children. You'll find the ranch in Blacksmith Fork Canyon, Logan.

Fifth Water Hot Springs in Springville is a great choice if you're looking for a free activity. Though there's snow on the ground, the springs are nice and warm. The area can be busy on the weekends, but if you can manage a mid-week visit, you'll likely find some peace and quiet.
