Pies are the most classic dessert, but it’s important to get them right; no one likes a fruit pie with a gummy crust or cream pie with a gelatinous filling. Luckily, Utah is home to a humble little bakery that serves the best pies in the world. Take a look:
Veyo Pies got its start more than 30 years ago, and it's been making the most delicious pies in the world ever since. It's located in the tiny town of Veyo, just 20 minutes north of St. George.
The specialty here is the Veyo Volcano - a cream pie filled with sweetened cream cheese, chocolate and butterscotch, layered into a graham cracker-crust shell.
It goes without saying that you'll take a few whole pies home with you. If you want a large number of pies, call the bakery in advance so they can have them ready for you. Thanksgiving orders must be ordered between October 1st and November 15th - this tiny bakery bakes hundreds of pies the week of Thanksgiving!
Visit Veyo Pies seven days a week, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and Noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. The address is 24 S Main St., Veyo, UT.
