The Utah Shakespeare Festival Is Perfect For A Fall Getaway

The Utah Shakespeare Festival got its start way back in 1961, and it’s grown every year since. The festival started with just 3,276 visitors – today it commands an audience of nearly 120,000! You might think of this festival as a great summer activity, but it actually extends all the way into October, and fall is the perfect time to travel to Cedar City for a fun fall getaway.

The Utah Shakespeare Festival has been going strong for decades, and it just keeps getting better.

The festival is getting ready to transition from its summer season into the fall season. The last production in the Engelstad Shakespeare Theatre is a showing of *Twelfth Night* on Saturday, September 7th at 8 p.m.

Make sure to catch *The Greenshow* before it's gone for the season, too! The last show is Saturday, September 7th at 7:10 p.m., and the show is free.

These talented singers, dancers, and actors interact with the audience throughout the production, and it's a rowdy, entertaining show.

Don't worry - the festival has other great venues that stay open for the fall season, and several wonderful shows to see all the way through October 12th. The Randall L. Jones Theatre hosts afternoon and evening productions of *Hamlet*.

True Shakespeare fans won't want to miss this classic, which is one of the Bard's most well-known plays. See matinees on select days at 2 p.m., and evening performances at 8 p.m.

*Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat* is also performed at the Randall L. Jones theater, with both 2 p.m. matinees and 8 p.m. evening performances through the middle of October. This popular musical has been entertaining audiences for decades.
