If you’re living anywhere along the Wasatch Front right now, you’re probably really wishing that your home was in a place where the air was fresh and clean. Check out this property that’s going up for auction on January 21st. It’s located near Monticello, and if you’re looking to get away from it all, this home, which is built inside a mountain, just might be the spot for you.
Cliff Haven is built right into the side of a mountain.
It's located about 20 minutes from Monticello, in Montezuma Canyon. The property includes 12 acres, with a three-car garage, orchard, vineyard and garden.
The home is powered completely with solar panels (and there's a backup generator, too). A well provides fresh drinking water. The new owners of this home will also enjoy apples, cherries, apricots, plums, peaches and pears from the orchard.
This home is about one mile away from the nearest neighbor, but the sense of community is strong here.
The original owners, the Houghtons, are selling the property because they're getting older and find it increasingly difficult to maintain the 12-acre property. While they love their home and will miss living here, they hope to find someone who will embrace this way of living, honor the native history of this place and care for the property like they have for so many years.
