One thing the Salt Lake Valley has no shortage of is incredible city parks. Liberty Park, Sugar House Park, and even Memory Grove Park are all beautiful places to spend a day. However, located near the mouth of Parley’s Canyon is Parley’s Historic Nature Park, an underrated city park in Utah. Here, you can enjoy history, an afternoon walk, and even some wildlife. It’s an underrated Utah park where you can truly immerse yourself in nature without traveling too far outside of the city.
Welcome to Parley’s Historic Nature Park. This is one of the best parks along the Wasatch Front and you can find it in Salt Lake City.
Parley’s Historic Nature Park is home to much history. As the pioneers entered the valley in the 1800s, Parley’s Canyon was the easiest route. Today, you can see the tollhouse that was constructed at the time, as well as remnants of Dudler’s Inn and Wine Cellar, which was built in 1864 but burned down in 1952.
This is also one of Salt Lake City’s most ecologically diverse natural areas and is home to all type of animal species, which you may just want to sit back and admire.
You can truly enjoy the entire area on the Parley’s Historic Nature Park Trail, which is approximately 2 miles. This trail is considered easy but there are some inclines you will need to conquer. Additionally, there are some paved portions, but not all of the trail is so easily accessible.
Of course, you can also bring your favorite furry friend with you to Parley’s Historic Nature Park. There is an off-leash dog area, which is perfect to let your furry friend run around and make some friends of his own.
Parley’s Historic Nature Park is one underrated Salt Lake City park where you can easily stay for a while. Relax, explore, and just enjoy time in nature — it’s good for the soul.
