In case you haven’t noticed all the Halloween candy at the grocery stores, the holiday is right around the corner. Get your costume ready and plan to trick-or-treat in a unique venue this year.
The Utah Olympic Oval was built for the 2002 Winter Olympics, and people from all over the world came to this venue for the long-track speed skating events. Ever since the Winter Games, it's been open to the public, and it's a great place to skate.
Address: 5662 Cougar Lane, Salt Lake City, UT 84118
Mark your calendar now for the Trick or Treat Street 2019 event at the Oval. It takes place on October 18th from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Vendors and sports clubs will be there handing out treats and candy. It's a safe way to trick-or-treat, and you'll stay toasty warm inside, no matter what the weather's like outdoors.
You also won't want to miss the Halloween Ice Show! You can sign up to participate in the show, or just watch it from the stands.
If you want to take part in the show, make sure to sign up by Friday, September 20th so you can attend rehearsals ahead of time.
Stick around for public skating. Kids ages 12 and younger skate for free during the event; everyone 13 and older pays just $5.
Bring along three non-perishable food items to donate, and you can skate for free!
Don't have your own skates? No worries! You can rent them right there at the Oval for just $3.50.
Check out the Haunted Houses Curling Tournament! If you'd like to compete, gather together at least three buddies, get your costumes on, and go for it! Curlers of all skill levels are welcome. The tournament takes place October 18th from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
