We could probably eat Mexican food every day of the week and still want more, so it’s lucky that we live in Utah where there are hundreds of amazing spots for every kind of Mexican food imaginable. There’s one colorful little cantina in Salt Lake City that serves delicious enchiladas and other tasty food items, and it also has a huge menu of different tequilas to try!
You'll find Tres Hombres Mexican Grill & Cantina in Salt Lake City, on the corner of Highland Drive and 3300 South.
Years ago, this building was a carpet store, and it still has the large, open, airy space. They've made the space beautiful with plenty of plants, hand carved decor, and cozy booths.
Tres Hombres has more than 75 different kinds of tequila on the menu, and you can get it in a margarita, cocktail, or a sipping glass to fully appreciate the flavor.
Of course, once your olfactory system gets a whiff of the food here, you'll be ready for a big plate of enchiladas, tacos, burritos, or if you can't decide, a combo platter with several tasty items.
They're a house specialty, and include three corn tortillas stuffed with spiced chicken, sweet pork, or shredded beef. They're topped with chile guajillo or tomatillo sauce, shredded lettuce, Mexican crema, queso fresco, and fresh slices of avocado.
You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but make sure to save room for your meal, because the fresh salsa and warm tortilla chips that they bring out when you sit down will fill you right up.
Visit Tres Hombres Mexican Grill and Cantina Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday noon to 8 p.m.
Get a look at the full menu (and tequila menu!) on Tres Hombre’s website, and pop over to Facebook to “follow” the restaurant’s page so you can see what they’re cooking this week.
