If you’re looking for a fun place to visit this summer, Tracy Aviary fits the bill. The eight-acre aviary is home to more than 400 individual birds representing over 135 species. You can stroll down the paths to see an amazing array of birds big and small, quiet and noisy, brightly-feathered and camouflaged.
If you can’t make it to the aviary, you can still meet several of its most famous residents. Check out Tracy Aviary’s virtual videos:
Tracy Aviary is located inside Liberty Park in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The aviary is open 363 days a year. Visitors 65+ and immuno-compromised have special visiting hours from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., all other guests may visit from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and everyone can enjoy meeting some of the aviary's birds from the comfort of home, thanks to the virtual videos it offers on YouTube.
Andy N. Condor is the aviary's most famous resident. In fact, he even has his very own Facebook page.
Andy recently celebrated his 61st birthday. Tracy Aviary hosts a birthday party every year for Andy, but this year the aviary was closed due to Covid-19, so they filmed him enjoying his presents.
Macaws are colorful beauties, and brother and sister Dali and DaVinci are no exception. They might be pretty, but they don't always behave well on camera, as you'll see in this clip.
