Utah’s San Rafael Swell is an often-overlooked part of Utah that’s seriously underrated. The Wedge – a deep gorge – is nicknamed “Utah’s Little Grand Canyon,” because while it’s nowhere near as big as the Grand Canyon, it’s every bit as stunning.

You'll see a little side canyon - Virgin Spring Canyon - about eight miles in. Check it out, because you'll see some cool pictographs there.

In fact, this canyon isn't hikeable when the water level is high in the spring. Check with local rangers before hiking if you think there's even the slightest possibility of flash flood.
