The United States has the second-highest rate of ice cream consumption in the world, and Utahns certainly do their share to contribute to that statistic. And why not? Ice cream is one of the best indulgences ever created, and the Beehive State is home to several creameries that produce some delicious local flavors.
The creameries at Utah State University and Brigham Young University are particularly popular, but if you live in the Salt Lake City area, it’s roughly an hour to drive to either. No worries! There’s a drive-thru ice cream shop that offers flavors from both right here in West Jordan. Check out The Scoop!
There's no need to drive to the BYU or Utah State campuses to get your favorite flavors of ice cream. They're right here in West Jordan at The Scoop! This little drive-thru ice cream shop carries flavors from both universities, and Rowley's Red Barn.
Fans line up for Aggie Ice Cream Blue Mint and BYU Creamery's Graham Canyon - both schools' top flavors. Get them both at The Scoop!, along with six other Aggie flavors and seven additional BYU Creamery flavors.
The Scoop! also has three unique flavors from Rowley's Red Barn on its menu. Try the Toasted Coconut Cream Pie, Centennial, and Cotton Candy ice cream.
Have you ever tried the famous BYU brownies? They're absolutely divine, especially when accompanied by a scoop of ice cream. The Scoop! has them on the menu, and you can choose between frosted and mint chocolate, with or without nuts.
There are many ways to indulge in the ice cream at The Scoop! Get a mini, single, or double scoop in a cup, cake cone, sugar cone, or waffle cone. Or, take some home. You can purchase a half gallon of many of the flavors so you can enjoy it all week long.
In addition to the drive-thru location, The Scoop! has a food truck that makes appearances all over town. Check out its Facebook page to see where the truck is parked today, and pick up a frosty treat while you're out running errands.
Visit The Scoop!’s website to see the full menu of flavors, and follow its Facebook page to see where its food truck is today.
If you’re looking for more locally-produced ice cream, stop by Leatherby’s Family Creamery. It’s family-owned and the ice cream is well worth the wait in line on a weekend.
