Do you love quilting, or want to learn? Utahns are creative, crafty mavens, and there are quilting shops and fabric stores in just about every town in the state to satisfy their cravings for new fabrics and patterns. Here’s a fabric shop that’s unique – not only does it have tons of quilting fabric and notions, it’s also a retreat where you can stay overnight! Check out The Quilter’s Lodge:
The Quilter's Lodge is a paradise for anyone who loves to create beautiful quilts, wall hangings, and other projects with fabric. It's more than just a fabric store that offers classes - you can stay overnight here, too!
The Quilter's Lodge is located at 12214 S. 900 E., Draper, UT 84020.
Step inside this beautiful shop, and you'll find everything you ever dreamed of to create your next project. The friendly staff can help you find whatever you're looking for.
The shop carries all your favorite fabric designers, including Sweet Bee, Moda, Tilda, Contempo, Dear Stella, and more. Whether you're shopping for a specific project, or just looking for creative inspiration, this is the shop for you.
Speaking of creative inspiration, you'll find it all around you in this shop. Finished quilts hang on the walls, and you'll also see plenty of displays with project instructions and fabrics.
If you're new to quilting, or want to learn some new quilting skills, take one of the many classes on the calendar here. You'll find classes specifically designed for beginners. Take a three-week session, or a more in-depth seven-week session.
If you're already a veteran quilter, participate in the Open Sew sessions. They're held every second Friday of the month from 5 p.m. to midnight, and every fourth Monday of the month from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.. Bring your own project to work on, and a staff member will be there to help you with techniques and answer all your quilting questions.
The classes at Quilter's Lodge are wonderful, but what really sets it apart from other shops is its quilting retreats. With 10 bedrooms and bathrooms, several fully-equipped kitchens, a massage room, and a deck and outdoor waterfall, this is the perfect place to finish a project or start a new one.
This beautiful lodge is basically a luxury home, and you'll enjoy all the amenities you can imagine. You'll definitely want to schedule a quilting retreat with your friends and family and stay for several nights.
The lodge has spacious classrooms and workspaces outfitted with ironing and cutting stations, work stations for sewing machines, and huge design walls, so you'll be able to spread out your project and work alongside your friends for a quilting retreat unlike any other.
Visit The Quilter’s Lodge’s website for more information about retreats, and to see a full schedule of classes. Make sure to follow the lodge’s Facebook page to see what’s new there!
