There’s nothing we love more than shopping local, and when that shop happens to be full of books, toys, and clothing, we’re in heaven. If there’s a child in your life, you need to stop by The Children’s Hour. It’s a charming Utah shop that’s full of treasures.
In a world where big box stores take most of the market share, shopping local is even more important. Support a local business and find high-quality toys, books, and clothing when you visit The Children's Hour.
Address: 898 South 900 East, Salt Lake City, UT 84102
Step into this charming shop and you'll feel like a kid again. Books of all kinds line the walls here, but there are also plenty of toys to spark your imagination, too.
The shop got its start in 1984 when owner Diane Etherington had a vision for a store that carried children's books exclusively. Soon afterward, she added toys and children's clothing to the mix, and later added on clothes for women, too.
If you have a little one in your life, you know the joy of reading to a child, and you'll find all the classics here, along with some new choices you haven't seen before.
There are books for older kids, too! Young readers will find plenty of books for all skill levels on the shelves. If you need a book recommendation, just ask one of the friendly staff.
Whether you're looking for a gift for a brand-new baby, a birthday present for an older child, or something new for yourself, you'll love the carefully-curated collections here. All of the toys and clothing are top-quality, and sourced both domestically and abroad. The shop also offers complimentary gift wrap.
