In the southern part of Utah Valley, you will see a unique and beautiful building sitting on the hill. This is the Sri Sri Rahda Krishna Temple in Spanish Fork. Many Utahns know it as the location of the annual and highly-anticipated Festival of Colors. However, this temple is so much more. Not only is it a place of worship, but it also has many unexpected attractions such as a tasty buffet and an animal park that make it an epic day trip destination in Utah.
The Spanish Fork Krishna Temple is a dedicated building to bring people to Krishna Consciousness and spiritual maturity.
The Sri Sri Rahda Krisha Temple in Spanish Fork was completed in 1998. When you arrive on its grounds, you’ll be instantly impressed with the architecture and design of this building.
After you've walked around the grounds, take a tour of the temple. During your tour, you can learn all about the deities of Krishna consciousness and its history and beliefs. This tour lasts up to 30 minutes and will give you a new appreciation of the temple.
However, there is so much more to this temple than meets the eye. In fact, there are many unique and unforgettable things to do and see at the Spanish Fork Krishna Temple like visiting its animal park. Here, you can observe a variety of animals like llamas, peacocks, cows, and more.
This is a vegetarian buffet, and you won’t leave hungry. Govinda’s Buffet serves eight entrees and a full salad bar. The buffet is available each day from noon to 7 p.m.
Various yoga classes are also taught and held in the mandir, or temple room, in the Spanish Fork temple. These classes run throughout the entire year and are donation-based. There are all types of classes from slow-flow stretching classes to yin yoga.
During this weekly event, you can enjoy a kirtan, which is the telling of a story, and a lecture. You can then participate in a blessing and enjoy a large feast. This event begins at 5 p.m. each Sunday.
