The Beehive State hosts spectacular and entertaining festivals all throughout the year. However, there is one lesser-known festival that is truly breathtaking. The Snow Goose Festival, held annually in Delta, is one of the most beautiful festivals in Utah. You can watch thousands of geese fly onto Gunnison Bend Reservoir and the surrounding areas, as well as participate in many events and activities. It’s one festival in Utah that is the definition of wild.
Every year, it is estimated that 20,000 to 30,000 geese fly through Millard County during the month of February. To help you admire this magnificent show, the Snow Goose Festival will take place February 25-26, 2022.
The main attraction of this festival is — you guessed it — the geese. Around 10 a.m. each day, you can sit and watch the geese fly onto Gunnison Bend Reservoir. The geese will remain on the reservoir until approximately 4:30 p.m. They will then fly to local fields to find food.
The geese may not be as active or there may not be as many animals if the weather is poor.

Make sure to bring your camera while observing the geese at the reservoir and surrounding fields. You can submit your best photos to the festival’s photo contest.
You’ll also want to stop by the Snow Goose Tent at the reservoir. Here, you will find both snow goose and Millard County apparel, can talk to volunteer biologists, and will learn a little more about snow geese.
