Hiking through Utah’s slot canyons is a unique experience every Utahn should try. The sheer sandstone walls on both sides of you create a quiet sanctuary, and you’ll feel as though you’re immersed in nature.
There’s one slot canyon in the Beehive State that has a unique feature – absolutely amazing acoustics. Many Utahns don’t know that this hidden little slot canyon near Boulder exists, but it’s a beautiful, peaceful spot that’s worth seeking, If you play an instrument you’ll want to bring it along!
You'll find Singing Canyon along the Burr Trail Road, near Boulder. Drive along the paved portion of the road for about 11 miles to the small pullout on the left side of the road.
This slot canyon is very short - less than a half mile long - but it's a pretty little hike that's full of all the typical red-rock beauty that this area offers.
Though the hike is short, make sure you've got plenty of water along, and check the weather report before entering the canyon. Flash floods are dangerous and can be deadly.

The canyon is simply beautiful, and the hiking is easy here. You won't find any tricky navigation or boulder scrambling - just a nice, easy stroll.
The canyon is shady and even has some trees and bushes, which add a nice splash of color to the scenery. It will take you just 10 minutes or so to reach the end of the trail...
...and then you'll find yourself surrounded on three sides by the steep, curving walls of the canyon. The acoustics here are said to be nearly perfect. If you're lucky, a local musician or singer will be hanging out here, and you'll be treated to an impromptu concert. If you play an instrument or sing, you can make your own music!
