If you’ve ever traveled to some of America’s big cities, you may have enjoyed a burger and shake at Shake Shack. This New York-based fast food eatery has long been popular on the east coast, and has expanded throughout the country. The company recently came out with an exciting announcement: they’re opening a restaurant right here in Utah. Keep reading for more details!
On the corner of 11000 S. and State Street in Sandy, you'll find an old brick building that's been vacant for more than a decade. Built in the 1930s, the halls of Crescent Elementary were once full of young students. The building served as Valley High School from the 1970s to 2008.
This historic building is about to get a long-needed makeover. A four-building development that keeps the historical integrity of the school intact is underway, and Shake Shack is the first business to sign a contract for space here.
One of Manhattan's iconic spots, Shake Shack started as a small hot dog cart in Madison Park in 2001, then added a small, permanent shack there in 2004. From there, the restaurant has grown to include more than 130 locations across the country.
So, what makes this little fast-food restaurant so special? It starts with the 100% Angus beef that's carefully sourced. The beef is raised on vegetarian feed, and never given any hormones or antibiotics. The rest of the burger is also constructed with locally-sourced produce and buns.
The result is a super fresh, incredibly delicious burger that's worth waiting in line for - and we anticipate that this little burger joint will have long lines of Utahns queueing up when it opens.
If you haven't already guessed from its name, Shake Shack obviously serves up frosty shakes with its burgers. These rich, creamy confections come in vanilla, chocolate, caramel, black & white, strawberry, or coffee flavors.
You'll also find some other iconic menu items here, like the Chik'n Shack sandwich, Shack-cago Dog, and crinkle fries. Frozen custard is served up in cones and cup, and the concretes are truly divine.
Shake shack is slated to open in Utah mid-summer, 2019. Are you looking forward to this tasty new burger and shake option?
