There are many wonderful places to live in Utah. From delightful neighborhoods to charming small towns, there are fabulous places to call home in the Beehive State. While we have previously listed many quiet, peaceful places to live in Utah, there is one that is often overlooked, but it might just be one of the most charming places to call home. It is the town of Helper.
Helper is a small town that is nestled in rural Utah. You’ll find it in Carbon County, just a short drive from Price and approximately 110 miles southeast of Salt Lake City. Approximately 2,000 residents call this town home.
This museum is located inside the Old Helper Hotel, which was built in the early 1900s. As you walk around, you’ll learn all about the unique mining and railroad history of the area.
For even more peace and quiet, Helper offers a plethora of outdoor recreational opportunities. Lace up your hiking boots and tackle the Gordon Creek Falls Trail, a short and easy hike that leads to a small waterfall.
You can also explore the Helper Riverwalk, which takes you through town and is where you can enjoy river views, a suspension bridge, and lots of wildlife. But no matter where you explore, make sure you have the right gear for your adventure.
And if you really want some peace and relaxation, look up at the night sky. Helper is actually a recognized International Dark Sky Community.
Of course, Helper is one of our favorite small towns to visit during the holidays as it transforms into the ultimate Christmas town. During this time of the year, you’ll not only find peace but lots of holiday magic as well.
