Utahns just can’t seem to get enough Mexican food. We track down tacos, beg for burritos, and crave enchiladas pretty much all the time. Luckily, we have tasty Mexican restaurants all across the state, and you don’t need to be in one of Utah’s larger cities to find a great one. Here’s an unassuming little town that has some of the best Mexican food ever:
You'll find the little town of Parowan along I-15, just north of Cedar City.
Parowan is also home to some of the best Mexican food in the state. Calvario's Family Restaurant is located right on Main Street, and if you're craving tasty, authentic Mexican food, this is the place to be.
The restaurant serves both American and Mexican food, and everything on the menu is delicious, but for a real treat, order something from the Mexican menu.
The Mother Town Burrito is the local favorite here, and you'll see why the moment you sink your fork into one. It's chock-full of your choice of nine different kinds of meat, plus lettuce, sour cream, guacamole, pico, and cheese, then smothered in red or green sauce.
The Mother Town is humongous, so bring your appetite to the table! In fact, you'll never leave Calvario's hungry because all the portions are hearty here.
Save room for dessert, because this place has homemade pastries to die for. Choose a traditional Mexican favorite like dessert chimichangas, or go for a slice of American apple pie.
