Utah is a pretty great place to live – it consistently ranks high for being small business-friendly, safe, and beautiful. Every year, Money Magazine ranks the best cities in the country, and two Utah cities made the list of the top 50 this year!
The magazine considered all U.S. cities with populations of at least 50,000. It used data from Realtor.com, and took a look at cost of living, crime rate, education, and recreation opportunities. Keep scrolling to see which two places in Utah are on the top of the list, and why.
Just a year shy of its 100th birthday, the city of Orem was ranked the 13th best place to live in the United States by Money Magazine.
The proximity of Utah Valley University and BYU also cited as one reason for Orem's ranking. In fact, SafeWise ranked Orem as the 15th safest college town.
Sandy is regularly mentioned by other magazines as one of the top places in the country to live, and its beautiful canyons have a lot to do with that. You'll find plenty of skiing, hiking, rock climbing, and outdoor recreation here.
Sandy is also considered a great place to raise and educate kids, with Canyons School District ranking as the best school district in Salt Lake County. And as you can see, Real Salt Lake Players are involved in the local school system too! (This is Real player Aaron Herrera, greeting students at Altara Elementary on their first day of school this fall).
