There is nothing quite like Christmas in Utah. From the magical light displays to the cheery festivals, there is always something to put you in the holiday spirit. Helper is a small town in Utah that transforms into the ultimate Christmas town each year. This small Utah town features the most charming main street to explore, unique winter activities, and a must-visit holiday festival that takes place over three weekends leading up to Christmas. Helper, Utah is a destination that is straight out of a Norman Rockwell painting.
Helper is located in Carbon County, just a few miles northwest of Price. With a population of just over 2,000, this is certainly a small town but it deserves a visit — especially around the holidays.
For more than 30 years, Helper has transformed into the ultimate Christmas town. Each year, Main Street is adorned with twinkling Christmas lights, decorations, and more.
For three weekends throughout November and December, Helper also hosts the ultimate Christmas Festival. Each weekend, there are multiple activities that are holly, jolly, and quite merry.
One of the most popular activities and a favorite for adults and children alike is the annual electric parade. There are also craft fairs, fireworks, a breakfast with Santa, and many other activities that your entire family will enjoy.
Although, if you want to escape the hustle of the holidays, just a short drive outside of town is Scofield State Park, home to Scofield Reservoir. After a snowfall, this area transforms into a winter wonderland that you’ll want to explore.
You may also want to bring your snowshoes as Scofield State Park is one of the best places near Helper to enjoy a winter hike. There are trails all over the state park where you can walk through a winter wonderland, enjoy some fresh air, and find solitude.
No matter what you choose to do, you can easily spend your holiday exactly as you wish in Helper. This Christmas town in Utah has so much to offer and is worthy of a visit every Christmas season.
