Some of the best Utah dining can be found in small, intimate, neighborhood restaurants. You’ll find Pago tucked away in Salt Lake City’s 9th and 9th neighborhood. Don’t be fooled by its size – this little restaurant offers some of the state’s best lunch, brunch, and dinner, and it’s got the awards to prove it.
Pago is a small, locally-owned restaurant that's garnered a lot of attention for its incredible food, cozy atmosphere, and environmentally-friendly business practices.
The restaurant is located in a historic building in the 9th and 9th neighborhood. The Woodman Building was constructed in 1910, and now houses several shops.
The restaurant's build-out was completed with green building techniques, using both recycled materials and environmentally-friendly new materials. The exposed brick is original to the building, and one wall was created using reclaimed wood from the old Lehi Hospital.
The dining room at Pago is small and intimate, with fewer than a dozen tables inside. It's a pretty, intimate spot for lunch with friends or a quiet, romantic dinner.
The menu here is always changing. Pago uses only locally-sourced ingredients, so you'll find fresh offerings with every season. It has a long list of partners, ranging from Beehive Cheese and Wasatch Meats to Clifford Family Farms and Sweet Valley Organics.
Unique salads, pasta, steak, and seafood all make appearances on the menu, but one of the items you'll find year-round is the Pago burger, which includes bacon, pickled onion, cheddar cheese, arugula, and black garlic aioli.
The Pago burger is on the lunch and brunch menus, but if you're dining on Saturday or Sunday morning, you might also want to try the French toast with seasonal berries or the cheddar biscuit with gravy.
You'll also find nearly 90 different wines on Pago's wine menu. The restaurant has won several awards for its excellent wine list.
Pago has also been recognized as one of the state's best restaurants by Salt Lake City Magazine, Trip Advisor, Yelp, Wine Spectator, and Wine Enthusiast.
