You might think of nachos as something you order as an appetizer at a Mexican restaurant. Or maybe you have fond memories of going to 7/11 as a kid and making your own nachos with that day-glo orange cheese sauce? There’s a new restaurant in Salt Lake City, and it serves up nachos that are a meal – and you won’t find any face cheese sauce there. Check out Nacho Daddy:
Nacho Daddy got its start in Las Vegas, and it opened its Salt Lake City restaurant in August, 2020. This downtown dining spot serves up delicious nachos, Mexican food, and specialty drinks.
The huge dining room has around a dozen high-def televisions so you can catch a game while you nosh. With 4,000 square feet, there are plenty of tables (and room to social-distance). The patio is perfect when the weather's nice, too.
Piled high with ingredients like marinated meats, fresh pico de gallo, guacamole, sour cream, beans, rice, cheese, and delicious house-made queso, these nachos are anything but ordinary.

Not all of these nacho platters are traditional Mexican fare - there are several that the restaurant calls "Mexican, American Collisions." The Golden Night Nachos are the perfect example.
Named in honor of the NHL hockey team, these nachos start with house-made corn chips, then piles on marinated filet mignon, cheddar & jack cheese, yellow queso, sautéed onions, mushrooms, red and green peppers, and pickled peppers.
Nachos are the star at Nacho Daddy, but they aren't the only delicious thing on the menu. Take a look at this heaping platter of tantalizing fajitas!
What pairs perfectly with a platter of nachos? A margarita, of course! The list of margaritas is as long as your arm. Choose a spicy cucumber margarita, sip on a Cadillac margarita, or try the Mexican Candy margarita.
Other classics include: Skinny margarita, Beer-Rita, Daddy's margarita, Pineapple Mint, White Peach, Daddy's Mule, and Mexican Mule.

If you're feeling really brave (or have already had a couple margaritas), try a scorpion shot. Cenote Reposado tequila, house-made sweet & sour, and an actual scorpion. Do you dare to try one?
Have you tried the nachos at Nacho Daddy yet? Which ones are your favorite – we’d love to see your comments!
See the full menu on Nacho Daddy’s website, and check out its Facebook page here. If you’re looking for more great Mexican food in Salt Lake City, you can’t go wrong with a trip to Red Iguana. It’s a Utah classic!
