If you love chocolate, then you’re surely in heaven in the Beehive State. With several incredible chocolatiers around Utah, you’re certain to get your fill of homemade caramels, hand-dipped chocolates, and delicious fudge. While most chocolate shops don’t allow customers to get a look at their production, Mrs. Cavanaugh’s Chocolates and Ice Cream does! Take a look, then plan to tour this place yourself:
Mrs. Cavanaugh's is located at 835 S N. Pointe Cir., North Salt Lake, UT 84054. This location has the chocolate maker's huge factory, offices and a retail store; you'll find several other retail locations around the state.
The chocolate company got its start in South Dakota, when Marie Cavanaugh made a bunch of pecan rolls for a church fundraiser. They were so good that people begged her to open a business. She did, and the rest is history.
Watch as chocolatiers create confections right before your eyes! Tours are offered Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and take about 45 minutes to complete. You'll pay just $1 for the tour.
