There’s nothing like a beautiful spring day in Utah to fully appreciate an outdoor adventure. If you’re up for a challenge, lace up your hiking boots and explore this popular trail near Salt Lake City. It’s a tough one, but it’s well worth the effort.
The Mount Olympus Trail takes you straight up the mountain to the peak, which sits at 9,026 feet. This six-mile-long trail is considered strenuous, but if you're up for the challenge your effort will be richly rewarded.
While this trail is stunning, it isn't for everyone. With a 4,107-foot elevation gain, you'll need to be in decent shape. Make sure to carry plenty of water with you - you'll need it.
The hike is all about the climb, and you'll be doing a lot of it. Luckily, the views of the valley below will distract you from the fact that you're out of breath.
Despite its difficulty level, the Mount Olympus Trail is fairly crowded during most of the year. If you're looking for a quiet, solitary experience, your best bet is to head out at first light on a weekday morning.
This trail is perfect for anyone who wants a jaw-dropping hiking adventure that's just minutes from downtown Salt Lake City. If you're fully prepared for the challenges Mount Olympus presents, give it a try.
