If you love to spend time outdoors like I do, Utah is the place to go. With our incredible national and state parks, lakes, campgrounds, etc., there are countless places to explore. However, tucked up Little Cottonwood Canyon is one hike in Utah that is sure to leave an impression — the Observation Point Trail. This is a 1.0-mile out-and-back hiking trail that is beautiful any time of the year but is especially enchanting during the fall months. With a bridge, meadows, mountains, and an overlook platform, this trail may become one of your new favorite places to explore in the Beehive State.

The Observation Point Trail in Little Cottonwood Canyon is one of our favorite family-friendly hiking trails in Utah. Not only is this hike easy and short, but it’s absolutely magical.

To reach the trailhead, you must visit Snowbird Resort. You will walk into the Snowbird Center, go to floor three, and exit from the back of the building. From there, you will follow signs pointing you to the Observation Point Trail.
The beginning of this trail starts on a beautiful bridge. You will then continue to follow the trail along the bench.

The trail is 1.0 miles out and back. It is considered quite easy with less than 100 feet elevation gain and the majority of the trail is paved. If you have young or beginning hikers, this is a great trail to consider.
