Summertime means outdoor dining, and there’s no shortage of perfect patios in the Beehive State, but there’s one in particular that we think is downright magical. Can you guess which patio is our favorite? Read on to find out.
When you want to escape from the summer heat, head up Emigration Canyon, where you'll find Ruth's Diner. The address of the diner is 4160 E. Emigration Canyon Rd., Salt Lake City, UT 84108.
This little Utah gem opened way back in 1930, in a converted trolley car. It's a well-loved spot for delicious food and a fun atmosphere, and it's fun to dine in the trolley car, but in the summertime, it's all about the patio dining.
The patio at Ruth's is absolutely magical. You'll enjoy your meal surrounded by the beauty of Emigration Canyon. Throughout the years, Ruth's has expanded the patio, and it has several levels, so you'll have a bit of elbow room.
Huge trees provide tons of shade, and the canyon air is fresh and clean. Unlike other restaurants that have to dress up their patios, Ruth's patio offers natural beauty that you won't find elsewhere.
Of course, the atmosphere isn't the only reason to visit. As soon as you sit, you'll be treated to a plate of Ruth's famous Mile High Biscuits. These fluffy confections are downright addictive.
If you haven't already had your fill of Ruth's Mile High biscuits, order the biscuits and gravy. Because the only thing that can possibly make these biscuits better...is tons of creamy sausage gravy!
If you're dining for dinner, you might want to try some of the comfort food on the menu, like the meatloaf and mashed potatoes, chicken fried steak or pot roast.
The service here is stellar, too. The waitstaff is attentive and friendly, and will take excellent care of you. If you're not sure what to order, or want to try something new, ask your server; you'll likely end up with a new favorite on the menu.
A meal at Ruth’s Diner pairs perfectly with a trip to Hogle Zoo! The zoo is right at the mouth of Emigration Canyon, and it offers a unique wildlife you won’t want to miss.
