Silver Lake Flat Reservoir is the perfect destination for a day trip on the water, especially if you want to surround yourself with some of Mother Nature’s greatest creations.
You will find Silver Lake Flat Reservoir just past Tibble Fork Reservoir in American Fork Canyon. Be aware that part of this road is dirt and can be quite rough. High clearance vehicles are recommended.
The minute you arrive at this beautiful reservoir in Utah, you’ll be impressed by its beauty. The water is surrounded by mountains and trees and it may take you a minute to fully appreciate the scenery around you.
Many people come to this reservoir to hike the Silver Flat Lake Trail. This is a 4.3-mile out-and-back trail that is considered moderate in difficulty. However, every step is worth it as the views are incredible.
The reservoir isn’t large and is perfect for beginners who want to practice their skills. The water is even calm enough that it's an ideal destination for a simple and relaxing float.
You can also bring a fishing pole and catch some fish. The reservoir is stocked with various types of trout including brook trout, rainbow trout, and cutthroat trout.
Due to this reservoir’s higher elevation, always come prepared for cooler temperatures, particularly if visiting during the morning or evening hours.
