Some parts of Utah are pretty desolate and isolated. Much of Duchesne County is really underappreciated territory. Here’s a little blue oasis hiding in a desolate canyon. Check it out!
Lake Canyon Lake is located in Duchesne County, south of Starvation State Park.
This remote little lake is stocked by the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources with Colorado River cutthroat trout. In some of the shallow areas, you can even see the trout swimming around.
Only artificial lures and flies are allowed here. The limit is two fish, with only one cutthroat. However, you'll want to practice catch-and-release for smaller fish and those you don't intend to consume.
