There is no better way to enjoy a hot summer’s day than in a swimming pool. Tucked away in the small town of Veyo in southern Utah is one swimming pool and resort that is like your own personal oasis. Not only can you cool off in the Veyo Pool, but you can also spend the day rock climbing, camping, hiking, and even catching crawdads in Crawdad Canyon. This is one summer destination in Utah that is hard to beat.
Veyo is a small town in southern Utah, approximately 20 miles north of St. George. This town is tiny, with fewer than 500 residents, but it certainly offers some incredible attractions.
On a hot summer day, the Veyo Pool is one of the best places to visit in southern Utah. This is not your typical swimming pool either. It is an all-natural, spring-fed pool.
This swimming pool has been delighting guests since the 1920s. Just recently, it was renovated to create a summer destination that will entice and cool off the entire family.
The pool area features lots of shade and swimming areas, including a shallow play area for young children.

While the Veyo Pool is a must-visit, don’t forget to check out Crawdad Canyon. This is a privately-owned canyon that offers all types of activities that will keep every member of your family busy.
In Crawdad Canyon, you will find 234 bolted climbing routes scaling up to 85 feet high. Just make sure you bring your own rock climbing equipment as rentals are not available.
And of course, you can't visit Crawdad Canyon without catching crawdads! The river in the canyon is the perfect place to catch these creatures due to the numerous small, warm springs that flow into it.
You can bring your own equipment to catch the crawdads or purchase a crawdad catching kit at the resort.
When hunger strikes, you don’t have to leave the resort's property to find food. Located onsite is Lava Grill, which serves many favorite summer foods like hamburgers, corn dogs, and ice cream!
While you can always visit Veyo Pool and Crawdad Canyon in a single day, we recommend that you stay for a while. Bring a tent and stay in the campground or tow your RV and set up camp in the RV/trailer parking area.
