The Stories Of This Haunted Utah Building Are Downright Hair-Raising
In the heart of Salt Lake City, you’ll find a beautiful, immense building that looks more like a Gothic castle than a place that houses government offices. The City-County Building was completed in 1894. The building has such a long history that it’s no surprise that many people think it’s haunted.

The folks who are charged with keeping this building safe and secure at night have some interesting stories to tell.

People working here have reported hearing noises, including laughter, moaning, and footsteps. They've also experienced something brushing up against them or grabbing their arms. Many have seen actual apparitions.

These include two children, their mother, a judge, and a past mayor.

He's also been spotted by people on the grounds, looking down from a window.

Many security guards throughout the years have claimed to hear the children laughing and running up and down the stairs.

Visit Room 406, and you might see the ghost of a woman, believed to be the mother of the two children who died here. She's often seen peering around the corner of the office.

What do you think? Does that look like a face?

The trial of Joe Hill took place here in 1914, and he was sentenced to death in this very building. Perhaps the judge was never able to find peace afterward?

You never know who —or what — you might run into.
In 2012, a Salt Lake Tribune reporter accompanied some paranormal investigators for a nighttime tour of the building. Check out this video of the tour, posted on YouTube.
