There are times when you’re hungry and just about anything will do. That’s when you head for tried-and-true pizza or something from the fridge. But other times you need something truly comforting. For that we love perfectly prepared home-cooked meals in cozy environments. This German deli operates like a restaurant and it offers all the comforts of home, without having to cook. Plus, there might not be another place with food this good without having to use your passport.
Welcome to Siegfried's Deli in Salt Lake City where you'll find all your German favorites in an unlikely atmosphere.
While the ambiance might not make you feel as though you've stepped off a plane in Germany, the food here certainly will! And it's lovely to enjoy it with the sun streaming in from outside at one of their many window seats.
When you walk in, head straight for the counter where you'll order from the large board on the wall. Then, they'll fill a plate for you to take to your table. And you can expect your portion to fill you up! They're huge for the price you're paying.
And of course they offer one of the best wiener schnitzels you'll find. This breaded, deep-fried lean pork meal comes with two side dishes and costs a totally reasonable $8.99.
Their sandwiches are a great lunch option. Especially on of their most popular options which is the corned beef ruben. It comes with mayonnaise, mustard, Swiss cheese, pickles and sauerkraut on rye bread.
This is a great place to stop in for a quick lunch or even dinner.
Siegfried’s Delicatessen is open Monday through Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. You can learn more about them by visiting the website or by following them on Facebook. Have questions? Give them a call on 801-355-3891.
