When the snow starts piling up, it’s time to get out and enjoy all that fluffy, powdery, white stuff! Pull on your snow pants, lace up your winter boots, grab your sled, and head to this little city park that has a huge sledding hill. The best part? It’s absolutely free!
Flat Iron Mesa Park is a great place to get outside and play year-round, but it's especially beautiful in the winter months. The park is located in Sandy, and it has a great view of the mountains.
The park encompasses 3.18 acres. With its three different trails, it's a favorite of walkers and joggers, and you'll even find hard-core enthusiasts out there when the weather is cold and snowy.
The hill is steep enough that you'll gain a bit of speed on the way down, and there's plenty of space at the bottom for you to slow down and come to a stop.
The slope of the hill makes it perfect for sledders of all ages. You'll find some smaller, less steep slopes on the end of the hill, and they're perfect for little ones.
