The Ice Castles in Midway have been a Utah favorite for years, and they’re a magnificent attraction that’s fun for the whole family. In addition to the stunning castles, guests enjoy a fire show with fire-breathing, fire-twirling performers. One of the most beautiful places in the U.S., here’s what awaits at the Utah Ice Castles:
Ice Castles got its start right here in Utah when Brent Christensen built a little ice cave in his front yard for his kids.
He got the idea to create a larger ice castle for the public, and the attraction grew and grew. Now there are six Ice Castles locations in North America.
The ice castles are made completely by hand. Every day, 5,000-12,000 icicles are grown, then are added into the ice formations. As many as 40 ice artisans create this masterpiece every year!
To see the ice castles, book your ticket online in advance. Stand By tickets are available in limited numbers, but there's a possibility you won't get in if you just show up.
Each ice castle weighs more than 25 million pounds, and covers at least an acre. Every castle is unique, and always changing. You're definitely going to want to visit this year!
